Why prices differ
The exact HDMI chip matters
Many earlier PS5 boards use the Panasonic MN864739 encoder, which is easier and cheaper to source. Some PS5 Slim boards use the Realtek RTD2175P decoder. That chip typically costs us around $286 before labour, so it cannot be priced like a normal HDMI port or MN864739 repair.
Panasonic MN864739
A more common HDMI encoder used on many earlier PS5 revisions. The lower part cost allows a lower repair price.
Realtek RTD2175P
A scarce HDMI decoder fitted to some PS5 Slim boards. The high part cost and BGA work make replacement much more expensive.
