TMR means tunnelling magnetoresistance. Like Hall Effect, it senses movement magnetically instead of using a sliding potentiometer contact. A properly matched and calibrated upgrade reduces one common source of drift; it does not make a controller wear-proof.
OEM potentiometer replacement
The lowest-priced stick replacement tier for customers who prefer the original sensor type. Genuine OEM parts are subject to availability; any alternative is agreed before fitting. Contact-based sensors can wear again.

Installed, calibrated and checked
We check centring, travel, smooth input, stick clicks and nearby controls after assembly. No promise of zero dead zones, better aim, higher polling rates or permanent freedom from drift.
Edge and Elite owners: we confirm calibration support and the effect on removable modules, stick caps and adjustable tension before fitting. Xbox One and Elite Series 1 magnetic upgrades remain subject to validation. We do not replace a working premium feature without discussing the trade-off.

When extra repair is needed
Cleaning does not rebuild worn potentiometers, broken springs, damaged ports or failed electronics. Liquid contamination and corrosion need assessment before a general service can be quoted.
Button, bumper, trigger, battery, port and shell replacement can be assessed separately. Parts availability and fitting labour are confirmed first. Contact us before buying customer-supplied parts.

Will cleaning fix stick drift?
It can help when contamination is the cause. Persistent drift from sensor or mechanism wear usually needs stick replacement. We check the fault before recommending the work.
Should I replace one stick or both?
One-stick OEM potentiometer replacement is the lowest starting cost. A pair can make sense when both are worn or you want a matched magnetic upgrade. Our sale pair prices cover both sticks.
Are TMR sticks guaranteed never to drift?
No. Contactless sensors remove a common wear point, but springs, mechanisms, calibration and other electronics can still develop faults. We recommend a compatible upgrade, not a lifetime drift-free promise.
Does Edge pricing include new Sony modules?
No. We rebuild the sticks inside your supplied Edge modules. Missing or damaged module housings and complete replacement assemblies require a separate quote.
Can I trade in a broken controller?
Yes, ask for an offer. We assess broken Xbox and PS5 controllers for buyback or trade-in. Value and acceptance depend on inspection; tell us about missing parts and previous damage.
How long does a repair take?
Turnaround depends on the model, selected modules, condition, parts and workload. We confirm the expected timing and total before work; additional faults need approval.
